"Ladies first." proffered Shinji after opening the door to the small shop. He stood aside to allow Ritsuko and Misato to enter before him.
"Ever the gentleman, Shinji? Why thank you." accepted Ritsuko graciously as she walked inside the store.
Misato followed Ritusko inside, a few steps behind the blond-haired scientist. "Thank you, M--...er Shinji."
Ritsuko paused for a moment, then continued onward...her hesitation speaking volumes without uttering a word....
'Sorry, Master.' winced Misato inwardly.
'I understand, Misato. Please be more careful in the future.' chided Shinji mentally.
"Welcome back, Mr. Ikari." beamed the Wizard.
"Hello again, sir." returned Shinji with a bit of a smile.
"You know this man, Shinji?" questioned Ritsuko.
"It's a long story, Dr. Akagi." began Shinji, "The gist of it is that Rei, Asuka, and Misato here are now genies and I am their master."
Ritsuko paused for a moment to reflect upon Shinji's statement as one would regard a child telling a fantastic and improbable story. "Genies and masters," began Ritsuko as she reached into the pockets of her labcoat and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Poised to light the cigarette she placed in her mouth, Ritsuko added: "You gotta be kidding me, right." she ammended skeptically. Looking at Misato and Shinji, she activated the lighter....
"I wish you wouldn't smoke anymore, Dr. Akagi, it is very bad for your health." stated Shinji in an earnest, serious tone.
An instant later Ritsuko saw Misato's eyes flash purple!
A few moments later, the blond-haired scientist deactivated the lighter and took the cigarette out of her mouth. Looking down, she saw a wastebasket on the floor next to her. That's strange, I didn't notice a wastebasket before inside this place, mused Ritsuko absently as she tossed her cigarettes and lighter into the wastebasket. Looking at Shinji, she voiced her gratitude in an awestruck, respectful tone: "Thank you, Shinji."
"Dr. Akagi." called the wizard.
"Yes?" answered Ritsuko as she and the others turned their attention to the wizard.
In a dead-serious tone, the wizard added: "Your planet is in grave danger. I can empower you to help avert that danger. Are you willing to accept that empowerment?"
