He was in the far future after Akane's wish had sent him here. Here was also a world where there was only one woman (Doctor Lorelei) and everyone else was some kind of "mongrel" clone.
What he was also discovering was that there had been no human women prior to a few months ago. Instead the original "away team" had pooled their resources and as none of them was especially good at the sciences necessary to create a HUMAN woman from the genetic stock they had, they'd managed to create a substitute for the female half of the race. A sort of placeholder. What they'd created was:
