Of course not.
Had that ever stopped him before?
He had rescued two elven girls and then gotten splashed while going through a cave.
"(Judging from that look of disgust, I don't think that he likes being a girl.)"
"(Huh? Hey where'd that girl come from? Where'd that boy go?)"
The thief, whose name translated as Thorn, had been watching the boy when the change had occurred. Actually she'd watched the boy quite a lot. "(The girl is the boy. Some kind of curse obviously. Wonder if it was the water triggering it or something else? Well, this proves he's a fellow adventurer. Probably on a quest to find a cleric who can remove it.)"
"(Oh?)" The cleric, whose name translated as Mist, was professionally intrigued now. "(A transgender curse? Those can be tricky. I met a half-elf girl once, her whole reason to get into adventuring was because her big brother had gone adventuring and brought home a belt.)"
"(I take it the half-elf girl was actually a boy?)"
"(That's it. She'd been adventuring for a couple of years at that point. Hmmm. I'd like to examine him when this is done. If there's a trigger that changes him to a her and back, it's an active curse and not a transformation that does it once and then can't be dispelled.)"
Thorn nodded her head absently, smiling when the human turned her head in that direction.
"(Shouldn't be far now. Can you get him. Her. To be quieter?)"
Tapping the human, Thorn made a gesture of hand-over-mouth, hoping that it would be interpreted correctly.
The three crept over a rise in the tunnel.
"(Hahahaha, we'll get decent trinkets for these beauties, so keep your hands off 'em, Basher!)"
Basher growled. "(But elves make such good slaves once they're broken in proper.)"
"(No they don't. They're too fragile.)" The leader looked around his crew. "(Where are those louts anyway? They should have been back by now. How many orcs does it take to subdue two crummy elves?)"
"(Should we sells them to the illithid or to the duergar, or maybe to the aboleth?)" asked a third orc.
"(There's only four of them, so it's not worth the risk taking them to the aboleth or illithid,)" said the leader, Squinteye. "(They're likely to say there aren't enough and they'll take us too. Don't underestimate them mind benders. The duergar on the other hand - they'll do. Having some elven pretties to work their looms and other such things as them blunt fingered types have trouble with? And they pays well too.)" The leader tapped a tusk thoughtfully. "(Hey, you five over there. Go out and see if you can spot Kanker Sore's group. They've taken too long. If they're 'enjoying' their catch we'll be putting them in stewpots this time.)"
"(Ol' Kank's had this coming, he has,)" grumbled one of the five as they exited.
