Ranma's Universe: It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it! Really! [Episode 8000]

by Sgt. Chibi De'Ohki

Hands clenched on the arms of his chair, Ranma tried to focus on the battle. The women wasted no time in scrambling, as he had ordered, and once the deck was largely clear, Canal planted herself in his lap -- for better sensory feedback, she explained.

In space, the Swordbreaker barreled out of the path of incoming fire, automated defenses targeting the nearby HenTai fighters. The women's Dreads broke away, weaving a path towards the Deepthroat. The HenTai fighters were no match for the more maneuverable Dreds, weaving through their fire and returning decisive volleys.

"Canal, target the enemy capital ship and warn the girls to clear once I fire!" Ranma ordered.

She nodded, then gasped. "Wait!" she protested. "I'm getting a distress signal from that ship on a private, encrypted channel! It's a pre-recorded message."

"Is it... er... safe?" Ranma asked nervously.

In reply, the AI put the display on the main screen. A very attractive woman in a fairly skimpy outfit was leaning towards the screen, glancing nervously over her shoulder and whispering, "I recognize the Swordbreaker. Please, help me Master Oe, you're my only hope."

Ranma blinked, allowing the ship to pilot itself for the moment, then wincing. "She's on that ship, isn't she?" he asked.

"It would appear so," Kintaro mused from behind Ranma, his spectral form invisible to the ship's AI.

"Well...." Canal seemed less convinced. "I'm not sure. More competi-- that is, how do we know it's a trap?"

Ranma narrowed his eyes. "It's got to be a trap. It's always a trap. And the cool guys always go straight into the traps and win anyway." The AI seemed unconvinced, and Ranma drew from a well of... something... he'd never used before, and made eye contact with the AI. "Canal! Set a course for that ship! We've got to rescue her. You'll need to drop me off and back up those girls until I'm ready to come back."

Canal flickered, a crackling line of faint electricity flowing from her toes and up across her body, leaving her blushing, but she complied without question, even removing herself from Ranma's lap, and telling him where the boarding pod was. Kintaro watched him leave, and shook his head in worried admiration. "To work the Manliness on even a being such as Canal... he is mighty indeed, but the temptation to use that power for ill will be great."

The Skank Adept prowled the command deck of his ship angrily. "Crash my wedding, will you? Engineers! Begin the countdown to the destruction of this pitiful mud-ball! We'll teach these rebels a lesson they won't soon forget!"

Belldandy gasped, eyes widening in horror. "No!" she protested. "You promised that you would spare them if I married you!"

"I lied," Jinnai replied coolly. "No force on your homeworld can stop us, not now."

"Your Skankiness!" an ensign yelled, jumping up from his control console, eyes wide. "We've got--"

"Not now," Jinnai growled, shooting the ensign a dark look. The man swallowed, and sat down quietly, as Jinnai fondled the phallic psychoblade at his side. Turning back to Belldandy, he adopted a lecherous leer. "Now, where was I?" he mused, just as the ceiling above him exploded, and he was crushed by the Swordbreaker's miniscule boarding pod.

Ranma leapt out, while the bridge shook from the impact.

When the smoke cleared, Belldandy stared at the boy with the rakish grin in confusion. "Are you..." she ventured slowly.

"Here to rescue you," he said, nodding. "Let's get out of here, and fast--"

He was interrupted by all of the bridge crew drawing their weapons and aiming at him.

Fortune always provides, in some sense. While it might initially have been luckier if Jinnai had been killed, he hadn't. The Skank Adept crawled from beneath the boarding pod, furious. "Put away your weapons!" he growled to the crew. "I, the great Jinnai will face this would-be hero!" he eyed Ranma's groin speculatively. "I see that you too have a psychoblade. Have at you!"

"Yipe!" Ranma exclaimed, leaping backward, and fumbling for his psychoblade. "Wait! Hang on, I haven't had enough time yet, it's not ready!"

Jinnai laughed, a hideous, screeching noise that threatened to make Ranma's eardrums burst. "What's the matter, little hero, can't get it up?" he mocked.

Ranma flushed darkly, and growled, "The name's Ranma. And... I'm just not ready yet!"

"Use this, Ranma!" Belldandy cried, tearing open the front of her outfit to reveal... herself... to Ranma. That did the trick, and a shaft of solid light sprang from the psychoblade handle, matching a hint of blood from his nose. Jinnai looked back, but not before the woman covered herself up again.

Drawing himself from his stupor, Ranma charged Jinnai, and the Skank Adept barely had enough time to defend himself, his own, nearly limp saber only barely able to deflect Ranma's throbbing weapon. "Yipe!" Jinnai protested.

The battle was brief, but decisive. Ranma's weapon had superior reach, and Jinnai's shrank with each second of squaring off against it. It was ended with a swift kick from Ranma to the Skank Adept's gut, doubling the young man over in pain. Running past him, Ranma paused, eyeing the bondage gear, and idly yanking the straps on Jinnai's leather underwear as tight as he could, then slapping the leather straps into a locking device placed there for -- evidently -- just that purpose.

"You'll pay for this, Ranma!" Jinnai squeaked. "You'll pay!"

Meanwhile, Ranma gathered Belldandy into his arms, and managed to squeeze into the boarding pod with her. The woman was stark naked by the time he entered the pod, her spiked garb flying over her shoulder and smacking into the wounded Skank Adept. Unable to spare the time to question events, Ranma hit the launch button, while Belldandy snuggled close to him. "My hero," she murmured.

In retrospect, Ranma realized that the lack of spiky bondage gear in tight quarters was probably a good thing, while Canal retrieved the pod. "Ranma!" she managed, her hologram facing him, in miniature, but floating neatly in Belldandy's cleavage, "Thank goodness you're coming back, because..."
