Girls were turning into catgirls, elfgirls, foxgirls, and other varieties but you get the idea. They were enthusiastically recruiting many of their male associates, sometimes recruiting the same one several times in a session.
There were those who would have disapproved mightily of the world going other than in the designated direction. A descent into despair, madness, and suffering? A world where the only two to survive as human beings were one catatonic girl and the boy who crawled into a pitiable little ball rather than grow a spine and do something? To Set, it sounded quite nice. Shinji wouldn't last a year in that setup, and so it would be a lifeless world with an insane sea.
Set looked at all the happiness and joy being generated and wanted to puke up. This would never do. He would have to intervene.
Lorenz Keele looked up, his cyber-visor noting the data. "Who are you?"
"Your only chance of achieving your Completion Project," said Set. "You have the Lillith clone. I shall be taking her."
"You. You're -" Keele slumped. "So it comes to this. My damnation is complete."
"You were damned long ago and by your own hand," said Set. "Cooperate with me and live to the completion of your desires. Deny me and be destroyed here and now."
"It seems I have little choice," said Lorenz Keele.
Knight Yui felt the vibrations in the earth, and took a broad stance. "Sword!"
With a crack it formed - a huge bastard sword made of swirling black and crimson.
Catgirl Knight Yui made a couple of practice swings with it. "The sword of Uriel, archangel watchtower of the south, black bull of the Earth. Of course it's just an AT field replica, but it should do."
Sandalphon breached the walls.
Catgirl Knight Yui went to a ready position.
