Match-Ups 101: Calling for help (LIME) [Episode 81377]

by Whitewings

It wasn't a long way from the bathroom to Misato's door, and Asuka didn't even consider knocking before she burst in on her guardian, "Misato!" She'd forgotten that Misato could sleep through anything short of an Angel attack on the building, and frantically tried to wake her, with roughly the same effect as yelling at a rock. She sat down heavily on the bed, then started to come down from her panic and actually think. OK, Shinji'd been acting less spineless than usual. She could handle that. The comments about the shower had only been to get a rise out of her, and it had worked! How could she possibly have fallen for such an obvious trick? Who was she, Wonder Girl? OK, she'd been sort of wanting Shinji, and her nose wrinkled at the thought, but that was just because she liked confident guys, which did not describe the Third Child.

She took several more deep breaths to calm herself and restore her courage. She'd been foxed, she could handle that, it happened to everyone. So what to do about it? Maybe this time she'd pull the same thing on him, take him up on his invitation and watch *him* get flustered? After all, he'd already seen just about everything she had back on the carrier (even if she hadn't planned to do so), and there was no way in *any* world he would ever get the nerve to actually try anything, even if he had been able to work up the nerve for one prank. A most thoroughly predatory grin spread across her face, the same expression she'd worn when Gaghiel had first attacked.
