Second Chances, Ltd.: Whose line genie is it anyway? [Episode 82384]

by Kestral

"Her powers will develop in time, she's just starting out you understand." The clerk looked apologetic. "Even the sort of powers will develop on how she utilizes what she's got."

"Oh, so not very powerful, eh?" Ranma decided. Sort of like the martial arts, you had to learn the basics and develop from there - or that was his understanding of it.

"Genie being all-powerful wish granting beings were a fairly recent development," admitted the clerk. "At first all she'll be able to do is use her strength and do relatively minor things. Fly. Fire off energy bolts. Talk to animals. Phase through walls. Flashes of precognition or clairvoyance once she finds an appropriate focus. Things of that nature. Eventually she'll graduate to more powerful things but don't expect it overnight. Not everyone is as swift with their studies as you are with the martial arts."

Ranma left the store a few minutes later but looked around and checked the address. He really wanted to see about getting Ryoga here.

"Hmmm. So I wonder what all you can do," Ranma asked the little slip of paper in his hands. Just press against flesh, rub the purplish side and peel it off. Instant tattoo that allowed the person to summon a genie.

Unsurprisingly, the paper didn't answer.

Ranma thought about this. He could use it himself of course. Though there were a number of girls who'd likely complain. He couldn't see giving it to a girl, most Japanese girls didn't like the idea of getting a tattoo. Lots of guys too. Made you look Yakuza and some bath-houses had a no tattoo policy.
