Flying targets, treadmills, exercise equipment. All designed for monsters to use in preparation of their battles. Ranma turned a critical eye towards them and tried to figure what each did.
"Can I help you?"
"Yeah," said Ranma, turning towards the salesgirl and wondering why she was wearing a maid uniform. "I'm lookin' for some guy named Lazlo?"
"Oh," said the girl, losing interest immediately. "Hey LAZLO!"
"Whuzzit?" said an old man as he poked his head up over the half door arrangement that seperated the showroom from the work area. "Someone say something?"
"THIS GUY WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!" the maid yelled back at the old man.
"Disguise a baku?" asked the old man.
Sighing, the maid pulled a notepad out of her apron pocket and scribbled something out before showing the old man.
"Oh! Well what is it young fella? You need your Training Gadgets repaired?" The old guy peered through thick glasses at Ranma as the maid went off behind a sales counter and started reading some lurid novel.
"I hear you found the healing spring," said Ranma.
"Ah, yes. If you didn't bring your Training Gadget we can do house calls for a slight fee," answered the old man.
"HEALING SPRING," yelled Ranma.
"Oh, the Healing Spring?" The old man chuckled. "Ah, there I was, looking for takubaka wood for building a special Training Gadget. Up in the mountains to the West, along this trail. There was this old trail, and there I found it!"
"The spring?" asked Ranma.
"Static cling? No, my clothes just bunch up like this normally," muttered the old man.
"WAS IT THE SPRING?" yelled Ranma.
"Hmmm? No, actually it was the Healing Spring. Fell off a cliff and landed on some little black pig. There was steam from somewhere nearby, and that was when I saw this hot spring in this cave. Then some idiot started attacking me and said I was hung like a wild stallion (how he knew I have no idea) and I had to get away." Lazlo sighed. "If only I could have gotten to it. I seem to have gotten a little hard of hearing of late."
"I'd have never guessed," said Ranma.
"No, I didn't see any nests," said the old man. "Though people have told me there's a Phoenix around there somewhere."
"MOUNTAINS TO THE WEST?" yelled Ranma. "HOW FAR?"
"Sure you can get your monsters some rest, it isn't good to work them too hard," offered Lazlo.
"Yes, the mountains to the West," offered the maid, not looking up from her book. "About twenty five miles. Make sure your monsters are Class C or above though because the monsters are pretty tough out that way and you'll probably need a rider or a flier."
"Thanks!" Ranma exclaimed and ran off. He needed something that could fly? Well, it beat mountain climbing. Where could he find one?
