"I suppose this is why people aren't allowed to test out of it," Peter agreed.
"It is an uncannily constructed conundrum," Kodachi agreed.
"Yeah, the individual parts aren't complicated," Peter agreed. "But getting them to all fit together..."
"This might take some time," Kodachi nodded.
"Okay, how's tonight," Peter asked. "The library is open late."
"Is there a problem with now?" Kodachi asked. "Neither of us has a class the rest of the day if I remember correctly."
"I have to stop by the Bugle and deliver some photos," Peter said.
"You work for that paper?" Kodachi said, turning a little defensive suddenly.
"Well, I freelance," Peter said. "I mostly sell photos of Spider-Man."
"Really," Kodachi said casually. "Now that is interesting. I can't imagine someone like you actually looking for a fight. You seem more peaceful than that."
"Well, it's not like it's me doing the fighting," Peter said, trying not to react to the off-handed comment.
"Hmm, that would make a difference," Kodachi said, then she looked carefully over towards him, searchingly almost. "And what is your opinion of the spiders?"
"Spider-Man?" Peter asked, blinking. "I think he's great, but Mr. Jameson pays me, and that pays for college."
He returned Kodachi's searching look cautiously, quietly looking over her for signs that she was hiding something. He didn't feel any danger, and there was nothing about Kodachi that wasn't easily obvious except the rose-patterned stitching in the same color as the cloth of her dress.
"I see," Kodachi said. "And Spider-Rose."
"Spider-Rose?" Peter said, turning from his inspection of Kodachi. "Where'd you hear that from?"
"Around," Kodachi said. "The rose pattern in her in costume. Someone even had the temerity to accuse me of being her based upon my preference for the rose. Really, I couldn't possibly do...such things." She said it in a slightly distasteful tone.
"Yeah," Peter said, rolling his eyes at the antics of the well off. "Well, I'll see you later tonight then."
