"They hurt!" Ranma protested, cringing.
"I've gone through worse," Genma told his son. "You have to be willing to take overwhelming pain and endure horrible tortures for the sake of the Art! It's the only way to learn."
"Promise?" Ranma asked.
"If I'm lying, may the Heavens smite me down," said Genma.
Ranma sniffled then stopped, his eyes getting wide and his jaw dropping.
Genma turned and saw the fireball heading towards him from the heavens. "I WAS CROSSING MY FINGERS!"
Genma leapt out of the way, Ranma following a half second later. In moments the fireball hit and split the ground so that the cats found themselves an exit and fled en masse.
Ranma was the first back, curious. Genma had gotten further away and was more cautious.
Slowly a hatch opened in the weird looking thing at the bottom of the crater. Just as Ranma was getting closer, there was a blast of steam and something shot away from the ship.
Ranma ducked.
THWAM!
Genma picked himself up after something impacted him in the head hard enough to rattle teeth and send him tumbling backwards.
That something turned out to be an escape chair, or more accurately - the head of the person in it.
Looking over the peach-shaped capsule and the swirly eyed girl laying on the ground, Genma decided to take this hint that the Catfist was actually a forbidden technique. Instead he grabbed the girl, hoping there was a reward involved and not wanting to face the police whose sirens were getting closer.
Setsuna Meiou winced as she viewed the past.
Sure enough, Ranma's fate was now tied to that of the Senshi - and vice versa. She was very limited in how she could manipulate things without leaving the Gates Of Time. She had to though, Haruka and Michiru were both working for the bad guys and if they ran into a helpless Usagi - she'd be dead before she had a clue as to her destiny.
Which was now apparently being the princess of a destroyed planet sent to Earth.
Watching Usagi eat, Genma came to the certain conclusion that she was a relative of some sort. Ranma had already come to the conclusion that this was his new "little sister" and he'd have his work cut out keeping ahead of her.
Usagi, apparently unaware of all this, merely finished licking the bowl and placing it on the stack. Why was the manager of "All You Can Eat" crying like that? So many things she didn't understand!
Genma pondered. Japanese myths were full of tales of heroes being born out of peaches and similar things. Giant mechanical ones were not strictly forbidden. That meant...
Genma growled to himself. Apparently he had been singled out to raise some great hero who would then go on to fame and fortune and...
The heavyset martial artist straightened up with a mysterious cha-ching sound. Well, he'd have to make a few sacrifices anyway. When Usagi and Ranma were famous heroes, they could spare a room in their mansion/castle for their old man, right? Right!
