The dying Ranma had been left behind by Genma when he saw he had been spotted. The boy was agonizing, his blood repainting the landscape, when the Police and the paramedics finally arrived. He nearly died several times from his injuries and infection on the trip to the hospital but managed to hang on.
Ranma underwent emergency surgery during a day and a half, several doctors taking it in turns. In the end, a miracle happened: Ranma was alive and stable but still in a critical condition. Should he survive, he would be crippled physically and mentally for Life, however.
The police reconstructed what happened and declared Genma Saotome public enemy number one. Warrants were sent across Japan and the World. The national and international media took hold of the whole affair, the so-called Demon Dad's crimes exposed to everyone.
The reputation of the Anything Goes style went down the toilet, destroying the Tendo dojo's business even before the death of Soun's wife. Nodoka Saotome made her life's goal to find her husband and make him commit seppuku, failing that she would butcher him herself. Happosai, still stuck in his cave, didn't care but when he would free himself, he would find himself a target as the founder of the style, diabolized to the extreme.
All of this was of little consolation for Ranma. His condition was so bad that many considered that pulling the plug out on him would be an act of mercy.
Then one day, men-in-black came for him. They showed the hospital personnel all the right papers and authorizations, declaring Ranma Saotome a ward of the State. As such, he was entitled to the very best care Japan had to offer.
In truth, a secret branch of the japanese government had gotten its hands on Ranma and taken him as a guinea pig in one of their super-soldier projects.
They succeeded. Ranma Saotome was now...
