"[Yeah. Green, soft grass, perfect for playing in, and good to snack on. And nothing else but the sun and blue sky...]"
The Ponyta paused for a moment, intterupting her narrative. Thinking for a bit, she then continued.
"[...it was nice, actually. I like being in there. It was like a really good dream, but not really a dream, you know?]"
"Huh. Weird."
The young man and the Ponyta were discussing what it was like being inside of a Pokeball. Pokeballs, being the things that Ranma had been examining earlier, were what Ukyou said Trainers used to capture Pokemon and to identify them as his. She had heard stories.
Wild Pokemon, after being engaged in battle with the Trainer's partners, would get sucked into those 'pocket monster' balls and get tagged as belonging to the Trainer. And once tagged, those Pokeballs could summon the Pokemon from anyplace in the world they were currently in and make them teleport to where the Trainer was holding the Pokeball. Or she heard.
Now, they were debating whether or not to release the Rattata from the second Pokeball. The Ponyta was all for leaving the annoying refuse diver inside of the thing and leaving the Pokeball behind as they made their way back to the road. The Pokemon's Trainer, noting how late in the day it was, argued that they still hadn't made their way into Pallet Town and that neither of them knew the shortest way there.
"We both know we need food and other supplies. And I don't got no money to buy 'em with," said Ranma. "And I don't need to get in trouble with the law yet by stealing the stuff. That's why we need to get to that Professor's place. That job in that ad may not be there anymore if we don't make our way there sometime soon."
"[Hmmmph,]" replied the Trainer's Pokemon. She could understand the reasons behind the decision, but it didn't mean she had to like it. "[Whatever. You just make sure that runt keeps her distance.]"
The Ponyta let out a snort of disapproval and stomped a little ways off. She needed some space at the moment. And she wanted a little room to run in, to work out any kinks in her muscles that may have developed while being in that Pokeball. And, just in case that little uppity rodent stepped out of line, she'd have enough ground to pick up some speed to really grind that little rat into the dirt when her hooves trampled right over it.
Ranma set down the second Pokeball. Picking up a long stick, he poked the release button on the thing and rapidly backed away. He didn't want another repeat of the incident earlier with the first Pokeball. A flash of light later, there was the Rattata, blinking in surprise.
