Second Chances, Ltd.: Visiting The End [Episode 90927]

by Kender

One moment, the beach was quiet and empty, with only the wind stirring up any sort of difference.

The next saw four figures popping into existance there.

Soun blinked as he realised that there had been a shift in the scenery. "Where are we?"

"I don't know old friend," Genma replied, "But it seems to be real quiet..."

"Humph. Just wait until I get back. I'll get that jerk and his new girl for this," Akane muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"For what? Some neat 'transporting thing'? I mean, other than sending us to the beach, it didn't do anything," Nabiki drawled as she looked around her, "Looks pretty polluted though."

"That's just it! She zapped us away to who knows where!"

"And other than that, it didn't do anything. It just delays the fight I'm sure the two of you will have."

"But my boy has done well to learn how to do this," the portly martial artist commented, "hasn't he Tendo?"

"Oh yes, he has," the other man agreed, "But we'll have to make sure that he doesn't use this on us again, right Saotome?"

"Too true. We can't have him using techniques on us. As his father, I'll just have to make it clear to him."

With a roll of her eyes, Akane turned away from the two fathers. "ANY-way, do any of you have any idea on how we'll get back. We don't know which beach this is after all."

"It's really simply little sister," the elder Tendo girl told her, "We simply go and find out, and head on from there."

"Just great. I guess we'll just have to ask those two for directions."

"Pardon?"

"Those two over there. They could know where we are."

"Hmm... Sometimes you have good ideas."

"Thanks," the younger girl answered, and walked over to the pair near the waterline. Standing over the boy, she looked down at him and asked, "Hey you! Where are we?"

The boy, who had to be about two years younger than her looked up in confusion before turning back to his staring at the oddly red sea. "I must be more screwed up than I thought..."

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm seeing things, seeing people. There's only Asuka here, and she barely answers me..."

Nabiki frowned and knelt over the redheaded girl so she could wave her hand over the open eyes. Getting no response, she snapped her fingers and nudged her, only recieving a blank stare as she did so. "Okay... How does she answer you?"

"I don't know... She's just there. She's the only one you know. All the others are gone."

"'Gone'? Where?"

"Out there," he said pointing out to the sea, "Leaving me alone, except for Asuka. Just Shinji and Asuka..."

"What? They went sailing on that water?"

"Not water. LCL. All that is left of everybody. All the people as one giant group, with nothing between them..."

"You're saying that this entire place is empty," the middle Tendo daughter asked disbelivingly, "and this orange stuff is the people?"

"Not all. Only me and Asuka aren't in there."

"Right..."

Akane scowled as she looked at the boy. "Stop playing games, will you? Just tell us what we want to know, okay?!"

"I must be going crazy..," Shinji muttered, "I'm even dreaming up imaginary girls to yell at me..."

"ARGH!"

"The boy seems to be missing a few cards from his deck," Genma commented, "right Tendo?"

"Poor boy must never have had a father like us to guide him on the proper path," Soun agreed.

"Whatever," Nabiki responded and turned to the boy. "Listen, you can't say that you two are the only two people around. Isn't there somebody else?"

"Rei."

"Good. Who's Rei?"

"Her," he answered, and pointed.

"Ah... Now we're getting... to see something very, very wrong..."

Biting her lip, the youngest Tendo looked at the giant white head. "What is that?"

"I don't know sis. I really don't know," Nabiki replied while:
