Genma turned, curious. Ah, the kids had found lunch. "Good choice, Ranma, Usagi. Shark meat is good eating."
Usagi nodded her head, giving a big smile and "unnn" comment.
Genma idly patted one of the best damn foragers in the world on the head.
Ranma looked up at the old man. "Who this?"
"This is Muten Roshi," said Genma. "I'm talking about getting you two some training in special techniques."
"Ooooooo! Special techniques!" said Usagi and Ranma in odd synchronicity.
"What kind of techniques do you have?" Usagi asked.
"Powerful techniques that aren't just for anyone to learn," said Muten Roshi, recovering a little. "For example-"
"For example?!" exclaimed Usagi and Ranma together. Genma went over to a boulder and sat down. Looked like this might take awhile.
"KAme-" said Muten Roshi, suddenly bulking up with muscles as he brought up his chi. "HAme-" Hands back and cupped, focussing most of his chi into a ball. "HA!" An energy blast hit a boulder fifty yards down the beach and shattered it.
"Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa," said Ranma and Usagi together.
"Hehehehe," said Muten Roshi, a little ashamed that he'd shown off in front of these kids like that and deflating back to normal size. "Well, that's a bit too advanced for young un's like you."
"Kame-hame-ha!" said Usagi, throwing off an energy beam that broke a chunk off a boulder. Genma fell down as his seat fell over.
"Hmmm," said Ranma, that odd fire in his eyes saying he wouldn't rest until he'd at least done that well himself. "Kame-hame-HA!" fizzle "Kame-HAme-HA!" fummmpf!
"Try pulling in more chi from the ground, then pushing out more," suggested Usagi helpfully.
"KamehameHA!" tried Ranma, this time managing it.
"Gak," said Muten Roshi, who had taken a much longer time to learn that manuever himself. Okay, maybe he still packed a lot more punch than these kids, but he was also quite a bit older.
"You need more evidence about them being 'special'?" Genma asked from his position on the ground. "Kids? What do we say to the nice sensei?"
"THANK YOU OJIISAN!" yelled Ranma and Usagi.
"I'll get the firewood!" said Ranma, hungry after that. Special techniques always made him hungry.
"Yay! Cooked fishie!" cheered Usagi.
"Well, maybe I could at least stay for dinner," said Muten Roshi, eyeing the thirty foot long shark still twitching on the beach.
