Sailorjin Z: Training Techniques [Episode 93023]

by Kender

Genma had taken his son out on the road to make him the best martial artist that he could be. Staying at home, among the conviences of modern society would have softened the boy too much, and that meant roughing it as they went, so that would toughen the child. With the need to raise Usagi as well, he saw even more of a need to keep on their journey to get the children better. It wasn't like he had liked the idea of laying on cold earth and eating sparse meals, but he had a task in front of him and he aimed to do it. His son and daughter needed him to teach them how to fight the best they could, and so he would.

"Hey! Hurry it up!" Muten Roshi called out, "If you kids don't speed it up, the ice will melt all over you!"

Watching his two children lug giant bricks of ice on their backs, the portly man sighed. It was so tough being the parent to a pair of budding heros...

"And don't drop it! If you do, we'll never be able to put that stuff in our drinks!"

Frowning, the younger adult agreed silently as he swirled around the ice that was already bumping against the the little umbrella in his glass.

"I'll get it..," Ranma grunted as he tried to go.

"It's just heavy...," Usagi commented as she trudged along side her brother.

"That's the point," Roshi told them, "Strength and endurance are trademarks of the Turtle School."

"We won't let you down, Ojisan!" the pigtailed boy vowed.

"Yeah!" agreed his sister.

"I know you won't," the old man told them sagely, and took a sip from the straw in his glass.

Ranma frowned as he looked at the nice sensei and from him to the big hunk of meat hanging before the two. "Why are we doin' this?"

"Simple," Roshi informed him, "Hitting this will be like hitting a person, so all you have to do is make sure that you hit it like I told you, and you'll be able to have control how strong you punch."

"Ohh..."

"Just remember, doing this right will be a big help."

"Right!"

What he didn't tell the boy was that once the meat was nice and tenderized, it'd taste wonderful. Ah well, he was a rather fast learner.

"Okay, you can start digging," Roshi told Usagi.

The little blonde girl scratched her head. "Here?"

"Yes, here."

"But why?"

"Because it's training you to get stronger and tougher. Pulling out all that dirt will make your muscles toughen up."

"Ahh... That's good, right?" she asked.

"It most definately will."

"Alright!"

Trying to look severe, the old man fixed the little girl with a stern look. "Remember to get those stones when you're done. I want to make sure the fire doesn't become a problem."

"Sure!"

"You know," Genma idly commented as he watched his son and daughter run by, laden with stones, "I would never have thought of something like this."

"That my boy is the reason that my school is so successful!" Roshi replied.

"I can see. You sir are brillant."

"Thank you. I do know how wonderfully my training techniques work, but its always good to hear."

The younger man smiled and sat back. "This is the sort of instruction that I could get into."

"Why do you think I made it this way?"

"Too true..."

Roshi nodded lazily, and knew that this was almost perfect. The students were training, he was working as hard as he could to train them, and it was an idyllic setting for doing this on. In fact, his only problem was that the only girl around was a child, and he had no pretty ladies to see.

But that was what he had his magazines for.

So, he spared the lounging Genma a glance before settling into his own chair and adjusting his glasses so they sat comfortably while:
