They were his friends after all. Friends didn't let other friends suffer if they could help it. Most were heroes as well.
Here was technology that could do it. Brain damage was laughably easy to fix for the machines here. No, the difficult part was isolating systems so that those in control wouldn't know of it.
Fortunately the builders had made a triply redundant system and some of the girls present weren't exactly slouches in the intelligence department.
The builders themselves, it could be determined, had never seen a human before. All they'd had to go on was Ataru Moroboshi, who was himself completely confident in his worldview. The machine intelligences weren't even capable of moving from their locations, and so had no reason to disbelieve Ataru in his desire to save his own species and wanting to please this example of their own ancient father race.
Evidence of past abuse found. Developmental insufficiencies detected. Deep psychological traumas found. Genetic structure flaws detected. Correct these?
"His father's influence, no doubt," said Sailor Uranus. "Tell it 'Hell Yes'."
The command was given.
Ranma groaned as the machines worked in his sleep.
They were his friends. They knew something about him. He'd deny any imperfections in himself, but if there was a way for him to get stronger - he'd take it. This was doing that now, but not all weakness was in strength of arm.
Ranma's new friends were not idle during his healing. Ranma had just settled down to catch a quick nap because the preparations were taking awhile.
The Army grew, the recording of Ranma wanting friends was replayed.
Several discreet attempts to hack were made and it was determined that Ataru's forces were preoccupied by something. They weren't clear on what - but it had to be some major snag in development.
All the more time to prepare.
Ataru's potential forces and reinforcements were being suborned to become Ranma's Army.
It was again with the best of intentions that informational downloads were considered with Ranma, to overcome staggering ignorance inflicted upon him in an area that would be extremely helpful for him. When it was all over, it would leave a Ranma with a great deal of knowledge of:
