OUATI Hogwarts: We're What? [Episode 94396]

by Void

Albus Dumbledore sighed. He had just sent Hagrid off to make sure Harry Potter was coming to Hogwarts. He would have preferred to go himself, but he was called to the ministry on an important matter. Something about a new student, one they wouldn't talk about openly over the floo. It had Cornelius all in a huff for some reason. Well, he would find out shortly. A pinch of Floo powder thrown into the fireplace and he was off to the Ministry.

Waiting for him was a fairly average looking man, about 5'10, with dark brown hair.“Professor Dumbledore? I'm Robert McTavish, Unspeakable. If you would follow me sir I'll take you to Minister Fudge and the Head.”

“Thank you Robert. May I ask where we are headed? I rather thought we'd be going to the Minister's office.”

“We'll be going to the Department of Mysteries, Sir. Beyond that I'm afraid I can't say.”

After that conversation lapsed. Robert led the Headmaster deep within the Department of Mysteries, finally coming to a stop before an organic looking wooden door. Robert reached out and touched the blue symbol in the middle of the door, which responded by glowing breifly before the door melted away.. The room revealed by this was very large and contained some sort of woodland glade. In the middle of the glade was a floating.. pot would be the best analogy, though the device so poorly described was nowhere near that simple. Made from white stone and more of that organic wood, the 'pot' had a diameter of about 8 feet and hovered 2 feet off the ground. Three streams of crystal clear water spilled from it to collect in a small pool below. Inside the pot was a small tree, standing 5 feet tall and with very healthy green leaves. Albus felt something he could not quite identify upon seeing the tree, which was a surprise for the old man, and he stared at it while trying to figure out what exactly the feeling was.

“You feel it as well, don't you old friend?” A voice softly asked him. Albus tore his gaze away from the tree to behold the countenance of Ollivander, Master Wandcrafter. Beside him were Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, and the Head of the Department of Mysteries.

“Ollivander, I didn't expect to see you here. How are you doing? Hello Cornelius, Lemon Drop?”

“I'm present at every Induction, Albus. This is one I had hoped to be doing several years ago, about the time last war ended.” Cornelius Fudge started to turn red as Ollivander spoke, “This is Jarvis, current head of the Department of Mysteries.”

The two exchanged greetings.and Albus spoke, “An Induction? I was under the impression that I was here to talk about a new student?”

Fudge blustered, “Yes, well, I'm sure that all this isn't really necessary. Albus isn't in a need to know situation and I have full confidence that he can do.. his... job.... without” Fudge ran down as Ollivander stared him down.

Jarvis spoke up, “Now that that is out of the way, it is because of you're new student that we need to induct you into the Dept. of Mysteries. Usually only Dept. personnel and the Minister know what we are about to reveal, but given the current situation you need to know as well. Before we can tell you, however, you must go through the Induction. It will bind you not to reveal anything related to this matter to anyone who doesn't know. This is magic of the highest order, and nothing from this planet will be able to break it. Will you do this?”

Albus Dumbledore nodded. He trusted Ollivander, and after being alive this long he had learned to recognize those moments where destiny swirled and everything changed. This was one of those times, though he had rather thought he was past having this happen to him.

“Place your hands on the tree.” Albus did so, as did Jay and Ollivander. There was a tinkling noise as lights speared down from the branches, and Albus felt.. something wash through him. It was truly indescribable. Ollivander had a look of rapture on his face.

Albus looked inquiringly at Jarvis, who nodded, “So, what was it you needed to tell me?”

“What only a select few know is that this planet is not the original birthplace of mankind. We are actually a colony planet of an Empire known as Jurai. Colony Planet 315 of the Special Protection Zone of the Solar System. We are currently cut off from all outside contact while certain specialized research is going on.”

For once, Albus Dumbledore was completely taken aback, and his surprise showed on his face, “What sort of research?”

“I'm afraid I can't tell you that.”

“And how does this relate to my new student?”

“Not all ties to Jurai have been severed. Crown Prince Yosho and his family have taken up residence in Japan these past 700 years. They and their guests are discreetly monitored, and a squad of Obliviators is on 24 hour call for matters relating to them. One of them has decided to study here and has chosen Hogwarts as their preferred school of learning.”

Fudge broke in, “I hope you realize the gravity of this situation. This is an immense honor and should anything happen to our guest while attending at Hogwarts, well, I don't even want to imagine it.”

“What is the name of my new student?”

“That would be”
