He looks over his hand and makes a decision. "I'll summon a face down monster in defense mode and place two cards face down. That'll be all for me." The holographic images of the cards appear before him.
He decided not to attack my Spirit Reaper? I could have taken some serious hurt there!
It's obvious that he has something else in mind. Just watch out. You draw your next card which turns out to be the magic card Polymerization.
What can I do with this?
Well, you can first summon your Nightmare Horse to the field. Then you can use that magic card you just drew to fuse it to the Spirit Reaper and create the Reaper of the Nightmare.
What does that do?
It combines all the stats and abilities of both monsters. So basically, you get a level 5, Dark Zombie monster with an attack power of 800 and a defense power of 600. It can't be destroyed in battle. It can attack directly, regardless of your opponent's defenses. If it damages the opponent's life points directly, he has to discard a card at random. If your monster becomes the target of a magic, trap or another monster's effect, it's instantly destroyed.
He sounds like a kick ass character to me, even though he's puny. Say: "I'll summon the Nightmare Horse to the field! Then I'll use this Polymerization card to fuse the Nightmare Horse with the Spirit Reaper to bring forth the Reaper of the Nightmare!" When my fusion monster appears, put it in defense mode. I'm not going to risk my life points at the moment.
The two monsters twist before another hologram forms with the purple cloaked figure sitting on a blue horse with strange wrappings on its body. The scythe stayed in the reaper's right hand.
"That's an interesting card. I would probably value it at..."
I can't take it anymore! Shout: "Do you mind not doing that every time a new card appears?!?"
Alex readjusted his glasses. "As you wish."
Order my Slate Warrior to attack his defense monster.
"I'll activate one of my face down cards! A Hero Emerges!!" One of the cards flips up. By the purple printing, it's definitely a trap card.
So...what does it do?
You have to go over to him and randomly select a card from his hand. If you choose a monster, he can special summon it to the field. If it's not a monster, he has to toss the card into his graveyard. He's shuffling his hand right now and placing the cards in a certain fashion so that he won't know what you picked.
Let's do this. Walk over to him and pick a card.
