"Perhaps it is because you landed on his head," Rei observed.
"Again?" Shampoo demanded.
"Again," Rei agreed.
"Silly, Ranma. Why no move off fence when hear Shampoo ring bell?"
"Y donut ewe eva watcher ewer gong?" Ranma muttered through a mouth full of dirt.
"Aiya, but Shampoo have right of way! Is olde amazon traffic law. All traffic on fences, rooftops, and other high places, must give way to woman warriors on bicycles, scooters, and skateboards; except for cows."
"Cows?" Ranma asked.
"Cows always have right of way. Is absolute rule, absolutely."
"How often do you find cows travelling by fence and rooftop?" Rei wondered.
"Shampoo no make law," the amazon defended. "What Ranma do walking with creepy doll girl, anyways? Husband take Shampoo on date instead, no?"
"No," Rei said firmly. "We are going to school now."
"Huh? Doll girl no interfer with amazon courtship before," Shampoo observed. "You no want be obstacle. You know what obstacles is for?"
"I remember," Rei replied flatly, in that chillingly toneless voice of hers, her odd red eyes giving her best angel-of-death stare. "Obstacles is for killing."
