That made her a good agent for EVIL.
It didn't mean that she was smart.
This was the same girl who let jealousy and anger cloud her judgement. She was apt to go after a handsome boy as much as power, but when trying to gain either, she rarely paid much attention to what went on when she did it. And she had a little trouble with something called 'tact'.
Luckily for her, the first mission to get the dragons had been planned by someone else.
This time however, it was all hers to work out.
"Hmm..," she mused to herself, "If he is the one to call them, then if he is in danger he'll call more. So why don't I put him in that danger? On the one hand, if it kills him, a possible danger is out of the way. But if he calls more, then there'll be more to catch. I can't lose!"
She cackled to herself, and moved to call up a creature of her own to send after the boy in question. That way, it'd both wear out the dragons, and force him to call more. And she didn't have to get personally involved.
Besides, it just seemed to be the proper way to do it.
Looking down at her son, Nodoka beamed as she saw how cute he was in his little uniform. His little outfit seemed to be so sweet and huggable that she didn't want to let him go. Then again, this was his first day of kindergarten, and that meant that he was growing up. Even the pictures that she'd taken for posterity hadn't banished the bittersweet nature of the moment.
"Isn't this so wonderful?" she asked her husband.
Genma grunted from where he was sulking. The boy wasn't supposed to be going to school by his estimation. They should have been on the road, with his son learning what was really important. Math was only useful in figuring out how much money someone had to pay for a meal, and reading was only needed to be able to understand the scrolls that spoke of special techniques and treasures. As for the rest of it, he considered it to be not as important, and something that should take a back seat to the study of the Art.
But the reasons for the change in plans were currently keeping a wary eye on him as they stayed with their friend.
That same friend was currently giving a sour look as he tugged on the unfamiliar clothing. "Why do I gotta go ta school anyway?"
"Because you have to learn all the things that they teach there. And when you learn them, you can use them later in life. Besides, don't you want to show me what you can do?"
"Well... yeah... But Minako and Makoto won't be there..."
"I'm not sure that dragons would be good in school. Not everyone would be nice, you know."
"That's not right. I wish they could come with me."
"We'll see," his mother soothed. "In the mean time, let's get you ready to go, okay?"
"Sure..."
I don't like this either, Minako mentioned idly to her fellow dragon, He'll be without us in that strange place.
Makoto nodded. I understand what you mean, but he does need need to be able to do things by himself. And who says he'll be without us?
Huh?
We can always follow along, and keep hidden so that nobody knows we're there!
This way we can keep an eye on him, and see what this 'school' place is like at the same time! the gold cheered That's a great idea!
I thought so too.
Unaware of what his two friends were planning, Ranma still managed to find himself perking up for some reason, and fussing less about going to school. Something told him it wouldn't be quite as bad as he had thought, and it felt right. So, he settled for something more like what a regular kid would be doing on his first day of kindergarten and didn't fight going as much.
However, what none of them knew was that there would be a sort of trouble there, and it would involve:
