"Yeah. Ranma Saotome."
"Suguru Misato. You've got dragons?"
"There are no such thing as dragons," said the teacher, adjusting her glasses. Kids had too much imagination nowadays. The nail that stands out gets pounded down, and she was ready to do the pounding!
A giggle sounded from a ventilation grill.
Miss Honda looked at the grill for a moment, wondering what could have produced such a strange noise. Then a head moved into the light. "EEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK! A DRAGON!"
Everyone stared at the teacher, except Ranma who merely ducked his head.
"We've got to get in there somehow."
"I think the kids would be OK with that. The teacher is another thing altogether."
"How to do this... that is the six million dollar question."
"Hmmmm."
"Darkness beyond the midnight bell,
Beast from outer ring of hell,
I call the servant of the first stone,
to destroy my enemy's flesh and bone.
Jedite - I conjure you!"
The darkness solidified and tested the circle of protection that held it. "Hmmm. Not too shabby. A little weak in the third pass but enough to hold me. You have summoned Jedite, the deception imp. Release me now or suffer the consequences."
"I am Beryl and I command you to destroy Ranma Saotome."
"What? You're a kid?" The figure shifted from demonic shadow-form to a bishonen sort of appearance. "Go home and play with your dollies and do your homework kid. Call me up when you're older. Yeesh."
"I am Beryl and I summoned you," said Beryl. "Obey me per the terms of the covenant."
"You're a kid," repeated Jedite. "What - you can't even be out of middle school yet. Leave me out of the petty stuff, call Danburite or Fauxite if you want little kids leaned on."
Beryl checked her notes, wondering what went wrong. "I order you to kill Ranma Saotome."
"Ranma Saotome?" Jedite pulled out a file cabinet and went through it. "Oh. That's a little better. Hero huh? He's all of... FIVE?! You summoned me to go beat up a five year old kid?! What did he do - call you a dirty name?"
Beryl frowned. "You were summoned. You have no choice but to obey."
"Look, I've got no problem with killing. Deception is my specialty but I can do the wetwork, but KIDS?" Jedite looked to the ground. "I'm never going to live this down. The great Jedite, imp of deception, reduced to stomping in some kid's sandbox."
"Obey," said Beryl, sending black lightning through the circle.
"Okay okay," agreed Jedite reluctantly. "I'll go squash this bug. Hmmmph. Maybe he's at least got a cute teacher."
