It was a place with a lot of rooms that would be typical for a Japanese apartment - think fairly cramped for most other countries with a single room.

Ranma shook his head. It was an old property - in the family for a long time and:

• in the center was a (hotspring, shrine, dojo, haunted well, or something similar).
• it was an old mansion that had been refurbished, though with twisting secret passages and legends of ghosts and ancient battles and hot pots.
• it was the many times refurbished Kamiya house & dojo.
• known for the many maids who worked there.
• something else.
