He was really feeling out of sorts. A month and some ago, and he would have laughed at the concept of monsters in modern Japan. Since then his confidence and paradigm had both taken a beating.
Stopping at a crosswalk he noticed a black cat apparently waiting for the light to change. It was a sign of how bleak it was going that he actually tried talking to the cat.
"So what do you think, cat? Where can I get some kinda way of protecting my sister against that kind of threat?"
The cat glanced up at him and yawned.
"That's what I thought, I don't get no respect."
BOOM!
After leaping six feet into the air and coming down in a fighting stance, Ranma realized what he was looking at. Some building down the street was on fire?!
Ranma was used to martial arts. Often reaction occurred before conscious thought could intervene. He was across the street listening to some woman's scream before he realized it, and trying to break through the front door before he heard more explosions going on.
Looking for whoever had screamed was one thing. Yet things got completely bizarre when:
