It had been a curious thing, actually. In the early days of his stay in Tokyo, Ranma had encountered a class from one of Japan's top "ladder schools," the famous Mahora Academy, which was located in the like-named city in Chiba prefecture to the east of Tokyo. He had instantly made a positive impression with that particular group -- the current Class 3-2 of Mahora's girls junior high school -- both with the students themselves and with their pre-teen, Welsh-born homeroom and English teacher, Negi Springfield.
In an encounter a month later, matters between Ranma and his new "fan club" escalated thanks very much to Saotome Genma's runaway mouth and his rampant misogynist attitudes. It was in that encounter that the master of the Musabetsu Kakutou Saotome-ryuu learned very hardly that while the members of Negi-sensei's class were (for the most part) a pack of fifteen year old girls, they were in no sense of the term "weak."
A later incident involving that wandering loon Hibiki pretty much solidified Ranma's friendship with Negi-sensei's class . . .
And, after a serious courting period that the Tendou sisters did their best to support and nurture -- thanks to Ranma saving Kasumi's life from those thugs! -- made it possible for him to eventually marry . . .
