Minako cocked her head to the side. "You think that'd be best?"
"Probably. I mean, we need help, and the best way to do that would be to tell a grown up."
"And since they're the parents, there's less of a chance that something'll smell in Denver."
"I'm not quite sure that's right, but that doesn't matter. Ranma? What do you think about heading to that family over there?"
"Well, we'd need to talk to someone," Ranma agreed as he collected tranquilizer darts. "And a grown up who has other kids'd be right for that."
"So, we can go?"
"Sure. Plus, it'll give us a chance to do something else."
"Like what?"
"Carry the others. There are more of 'em asleep than awake, and I don't wanna leave anyone behind, even ta start shiftin' 'em ta a different place."
Both Minako and Makoto nodded in agreement at that precaution.
As he ran, the foreign agent glanced back, and saw that he wasn't being followed by the children. That was both a blessing and a curse, as he knew that he had lost any chance to get any pursuers isolated enough for capture, but had also kept his skin on his back. Still, he wasn't too pleased with the idea of having to report the failure in to his superiors.
He never even noticed the person from the Japanese government watching in the shadows.
"I've got a clear line on him now," the individual murmured.
It took no time at all for a response to come back over his earbud. *"Hold off. We need to know who he has to contact in this sort of situation. Once we find that out, then we act on him."*
"Understood."
The children weren't quite certain what would happen to them with this plan. They didn't know who the people who had attacked them were, but they were perfectly aware of the fact that if they didn't get a move on, there was a major possibility that the creeps might come back, or, even worse, might bring friends. Since the only way that they were certain to get to safety would be to find help of their own was to go and ask someone, that was what they were going to do. Even though they didn't know who the family they were approaching was, they were pretty sure that they were going to be at least nice enough to put them into contact with someone that could help them.
