Ukyo's face crumpled as she realized what Ranma was talking about, then cried out, "my perfect day! I forgot all about our classes, it's going to be ruined!"
Ranma winced and tentatively put a hand on the shoulder of his erstwhile fiance, looking around for incoming fists, desks, or other weapons aimed in his direction. "Come on, Ucchan, it's not that bad. We can still do some of the stuff you wanted, I'm sure."
Little else was coming to mind, but Ranma would have done something else to take her mind off the whole thing if the Math teacher hadn't come in at that moment--something that soon gave _him_ something to be depressed about.
"Today we're going to be dealing with budgets of family households, encouraging all of you to..."
Putting his head in his hands, Ranma tried to block out the drone of the portly, balding man and was actually fairly successful until he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning his head, he saw Ukyou staring at him pointedly.
"Come on, Ranma, you have to help me plan out our budget for the first year we're married." Ukyou smiled and held up the planning sheets that Mr. Taguchi had passed out, then deftly snagged the one sitting on top of Ranma's head.
Giving a short, sharp chuckle, Ranma turned his attention to his fiance. "So what do we gotta do?"
Ukyou beamed and scooted her desk up to face Ranma's own, much like he saw the rest of the class was doing, then laid out the various sheets in front of him. "Well, we have to fill out these, which is basically how much we think we're going to make, then decide what types of things we want. Like a house, with a nice koi pond and maybe a little rock garden, and of course we'll need space for the kids..."
Staring at his fiancee, the young martial artist waved a hand in front of her face without a response. "Ucchan? Hey, Ucchan!" He snapped his fingers in front of her, startling her into a blushing response.
"Sorry, Ranchan." Ukyou glanced up at Ranma from beneath her bangs. "Anyway I estimated that we would have this much to spend our first year." She pushed the sheet over to him, pointing out a figure.
Ranma looked at it and whistled. "Hey, that's a lot of money. I don't know if I can bring that in."
Ukyou stared at Ranma. "That's the money from Ucchan's, I didn't really think, well..." She trailed off, then turned around and pulled an eraser out of her pile of books. "...umm, how much do you think you're going to be able to mak--what are you planning on doing for money after we graduate anyway, Ranchan?"
The pig-tailed boy shrugged. "I dunno, I was thinkin' about just travelin' for awhile. Maybe take in money at martial arts competitions or somethin'."
He thought for a minute, then turned his sheet over and started scribbling, his brow wrinkling as he chewed on his pencil. Finally he pushed the paper over to Ukyou. "I figure I could get that from a few of the bigger competitions. Me and Pops used to go to those some time. He never entered, but they give out some pretty big checks."
Ukyou's widened as she took in the number, then she shook her head and silently added it to their paper. For the rest of the period they worked together quietly, arguing over petty little things like where the house would be located, whether Ukyou really needed a shop right under where she lived, and other small details.
The remainder of their classes before lunch turned out much the same. Social Sciences dealt with the question of children, how many they would have, when, what their names would be and more. Science was all about educating those children--Mrs. Yamata waxed quite eloquent on how they would have to do a much better job on discipline than _their_ parents had--and added some more to their budgets. And finally, they had Physical Education, which turned out to be cooperative games like three legged and wheel barrow races and such. The last left Ranma, Ukyou, Kunou, and Akane all covered in dust, the game having turned rather competitive.
Finally, lunch rolled around, and after showering (about the only thing he hadn't done with Ukyou today) Ranma walked over to her and waited. Finally, when she just started walking towards the tree Akane, Ranma and she usually ate under he asked, somewhat diffidently, "So where did you want to go sightseeing? We do have that extended lunch hour and all."
Ukyou turned around, eyes widening slightly. "You mean you really _do_ want to go? Oh, Ranchan, I know _just_ where I want to go!"
