"Why not?" The goddess asked, seemingly offended.
"Uh...nevermind," He said, not wanting to get on her bad side.
"That's better," The girl-god smiled. "Now, Ranma...I want you to close your eyes...and relax." Ranma did so. When Ranma closed his eyes, he found he could no longer open them. "So this is it..." He thought. "I'm going to be reborn...as some girl. And what a way to go that was, too," He grumbled. Ranma kept his eyes closed for a good ten seconds. And then they opened, and she was born.
"It's a girl," Asuna instinctively wailed, wanting for nothing more than to be close to her mother.
Five uneventful years passed after this. Five strange years of a little girl passed for little Asuna. Five years until that fateful night...
The night her mother died. Asuna tossed and turned fitfully in her sleep. She woke up suddenly and looked up at the stars.
"You're up early," a male voice came to her. She looked up; the stars were still out. She was indeed early. The stars were still out.
Asuna sat down looking at her hands. In one hand was the power of magic, and in the other hand was the power of Chi. Her mother had been a witch, and father was supposed to be some very strong Chi adept, although she never found out who it was because her mother had never told her...from what she remembered. Now there was no hope of learning her father's name. Asuna knew that the man wasn't bad, because of the way her. She spoke both Japanese and English proficiently, as well as some welsh. "Chi in one hand...Magic in the other," She breathed as she effortlessly fused the two into one power...
