Ranma Saotome hadn't wanted to do this, and the part of him that was Anaria did not want him to do this. Ranma Saotome was a guy, who had had some weird dreams this morning about being a girl named Ranko, but just grasping the little pen-thing had told him a few things.
If he invoked it, he would remember in detail a previous life as Anaria. AKA Sailor Prime. The Witch Of The Beginnings. The Starweaver. The Senshi of the Galaxy Cauldron.
If he invoked it, he would forevermore remember a life as Ranma Saotome but he would also be Anaria. He would be the Senshi who oversaw and repaired the Galaxy Cauldron (or Crucible if you preferred, Cauldron was the older term).
There Starseeds were melted down and forged anew. Some went away entirely. Others became stronger. There were laws and schedules and other things involved with the process.
If he invoked it, Ranma Saotome's strength and speed and durability would triple. His chi reserves would rise to levels beyond Herb OR Saffron. His lifespan would extend to over thousand years unless accident or violence took him before that. However he would also be Alenia - possibly more than he would remain Ranma.
If he invoked it, he would have duties and responsibilities. Some less pleasant than others. Remaining impartial between warring Senshi. Taking in the starseeds of even loved ones and recycling their lives, setting them on the courses of their new destinies.
Yet, Ranma Saotome could do nothing about Akane turning into a rather perverted looking tree.
He invoked the power.
Alenia knew that she herself could do very little. Her main power was to utilize the connection to the Cauldron and empower Senshi. She could do minor Senshi, at most three a day. A major Senshi would be much more difficult and the effort could put her in a sick bed for a few days. Given time and practice she could improve that, but for now the limitations remained.
Spotting an untransformed girl, Alenia concentrated. The choice had to be made and it had to be made knowingly. It was not an easy road to be a Senshi, and once taken up that burden could not simply be set down.
The girl heard, hesitated as she looked at the trees who had once been classmates, and nodded.
Sailor Prime didn't know if this girl would have the right powers to cure, or if her powers would be more useful in the current combat. She concentrated, empowering and reforging the girl's starseed. For better or worse, there was a new Senshi in town, and her name was:
