Kaede, Konoka, and Setsuna were all in one class - which (even more oddly) had a child teacher for homeroom.
That left Ranma in a class by himself, at least as far as that group was concerned. There were thirty others in his class he didn't know.
With a teacher who was bemoaning the fact that he couldn't simply go directly to the Sengoku Jidai when teaching Japanese History. That he was wearing a helmet from that period just made the class a little more surreal.
Genma felt a little more reassured about Ranma being able to stay in shape while at this school.
There were things in this world that had not been in his previous world, and things were of a darker and more dangerous nature. Maintaining his top form in the martial arts was simply a priority of survival. One had to adapt or remain within the more travelled areas, getting into some of the things that he and Ranma had seen was sufficient indicator that life was cheaper here than where they had started out.
The girl he'd just beaten up was an element-based fighter, her chi had manifested as fire even if she hadn't developed that ability to where she could fully manifest flames around her punches. The boy with the wooden stick had used a vaccuum-blade technique similar to his own 'Demon King Retribution' attack.
That the Triads (Sun Yee On in particular) were warring with the Yakuza in southern Japan and using zombies had just proved to Genma that keeping techniques under seal was 'situationally absurd' or something like that. No, this was a world in which techniques had to adapt to situations he'd never considered prior to that unexpected journey.
Genma continued to look over the grounds, having left the kendoist and his girlfriend behind.
"DIE INTERLOPER!"

Genma continued looking over the schoolyard, noting that some students were apparently playing hooky. Ah well, passions of youth he supposed.
