"Hn," agreed Sasuke. Family was important, one truly appreciated such things when they were abruptly yanked away.
"So, nicer engine of mass destruction," said Sakura, "and that Naruto had parents. Third?"
"How about an awesome jutsu?" asked Naruto.
"Define 'awesome'," suggested Sasuke.
"Extremely impressive or something that inspires admiration, envy, or fear?" tried Sakura.
"Do you want a suggestion?" rumbled Kurama.
"Thought you were asleep," said Naruto.
One huge eye opened to regard him. "What is it that you want this jutsu to accomplish? Figure that out, work backwards from there."
"That's... actually a good idea," noted Sakura.
"I want to become Hokage," tried Naruto.
"Why do you want to be Hokage?" tried Sakura. "What will that actually accomplish?"
"People will acknowledge me if I'm Hokage, and..." Naruto paused and his face scrunched up. "Dang it. I'm not really good with words, ya know."
"Believe it," mumbled Sasuke, smirking in the face of Naruto's glare.
"Well, how about a healing jutsu?" asked Sakura. "If you had something that could heal wounds - people are always getting injuries in our line of work. Being able to heal people would get you acknowledged."
"Maybe," admitted Naruto, who didn't really think that'd work out that well.
Sasuke considered that for a moment. "What are the Hokage known for?"
"Hashirama Senju - his techniques with wood. Tobirama Senju - greatest master of Water element techniques," listed Sakura. "Hiruzen Sarutobi known as 'The Professor' because he mastered every kind of jutsu and technique out there. Minato Namikaze who was feared as the Yellow Flash for his signature jutsu."
"Right," said Sasuke. "Massive destruction and the ability to decimate large numbers of enemies."
It would be normal for Sakura to simply agree with Sasuke and drop her own argument. However, this was not a normal situation. So after a moment of biting her tongue, she decided to bring up a point. "They all made names for themselves in wars though."
Naruto nodded at both points. A super-healing jutsu might be good, but he could also see some pretty good points for big explosions or something. Also, he didn't want to argue with Sakura because that might get him clobbered.
"Maybe something that can do both?" tried Sasuke. "Heal or protect allies and destroy enemies?"
"That might work, but how?" asked Sakura.
"Let the big powerful whatever-it-is figure that out?" asked Naruto.
Sasuke considered that, nodded. Sakura followed Sasuke's example.
"OKAY!" yelled Sakura. "We're ready!"
"So I heard," said Toltiir, phasing in. "Speak then the wishes three."
"One," said Naruto, holding up a finger. "Make the Kyubi nicer to me. Two, living parents who weren't mean to me and who'd teach me lots of useful ninja stuff and training. Three, some super-special jutsu thing that lets me do healing or protecting stuff and that can also be used to make me awesome at the stuff a Hokage has to be."
"Very well. Let's see how that plays out."
