Ron's jaw hung down.
"But why?" Harry asked.
The soon to be ex-Slytherin girl shrugged. "Public demonstrations carry more weight than private ones, and I want the sting of this to last."
"Oh."
What more was there that could be said?

That evening the houses were stirring as they gathered for dinner. Rumors had been flying, everything from outright lies and complete distortion to uncannily accurate, although it wasn't the accurate ones people were speaking about.
"Did you hear?" Fred and George stopped by Ron and his friends. "Draco's being thrown out of Slytherin!"
"Well I heard that Hecate learned what happened to her dozen-times great granddaughter and is coming here in person!" Lee Jordan added his tidbit, before moving on to another group.
"Sometimes I wonder about them." Hermione mumbled.
"Glad we know what's going on this time." Ron shrugged.
"Oh DO you?" Fred and George appeared at his shoulders. They were stopped in their questioning further when Albus began to ring his spoon against his glass for attention. The hall fell eerily silent as he stood.
The hushed breath became almost panfully quiet as Professor McGonagall brought in a stood and the Sorting Hat, placing both before the head table. The hat sat up straight and began again to sing.
"Oh, I'm a clever little hat.
The brightest you'll soon see
So it's with shame I'll admit to that
A mistake was made by me.
It's not as hard as you might think
Putting students with their peers
But ever so rare, a hat might shrink
when I fail sitting round your ears.
Thoughs swirls madly in your brains
Abilities matched with cares
What matches best? It truly strains
While I'm resting on your hairs.
I've got a job I'd like to do
seting right to all my wrongs
So now you've heard the rarest tune
Out of all my silly songs."
"Another sorting?" The students whispered in wonder. Who and what could it be? Ron's twin brother had just slid into seats on either side to pester him when the great doors came open with a stately thump.
Kodachi Hecate stood there, on the arm of Madam Pomfrey, the nurse. Kodachi's head was wrapped with a bandage that hadn't been there when they'd visited her that morning, but if Draco was goiong to fake injuries none of Harry's friends would rebuke the girl for turning the tables on him.
Frail, delicate, and stately, Kodachi and her nurse advanced into the room, drawing attention and baited breath that made the seconds pass dizzily until she was standing on the raised dias beside the Sorting Hat and had turned to face the school.
Albus Dumbledore nodded, and McGonagal lifted the hat, and Kodachi sat on the stool. It was only then most of the school understood what was going on, putting together the song and what they could see. A mighty ire arose amidst the Slytherin table, some directed to Kodachi, feeling she was turning traitor, but most of turning inward to glare at Malfoy from many angles.
Draco blanched when he thought what his father was going to say about this.
The hat had already settled around Kodachi's eyes. "Hmm, back again is it? I'm sorry about that. Slytherin just doesn't seem the place it used to be, does it? Well, now. What shall we do to make this up to you?"
