Muttering under her breath, she said, "Must be nervous about entering a container other than my gem."
Asuka chuckled mentally, as she entered the plug. 'Well, I can still feel Master and my sisters. I guess my link to the ring over-rides being put into a bottle of sorts.'
Asuka felt the entry plug descend into Unit-02. As the LCL started filling the plug, Asuka squirmed.
"I still hate this part."

Shinji had entered Unit-01 nervously. He looked at his covered hand, and saw the lump that was the ring that was the home/prision of his genies.
'I hope Asuka is all right,' Shinji thought, as he looked at the monitor, showing NERV central.
His eyes sought out Rei and Misato. As he looked at them, they turned their heads to look straight at him and nodded.
Soon, the preperations were done and the EVA's were launched. Shinji let Asuka take the lead towards the Angel. He mentally went over the standard procedures on dealing with an Angel.
Asuka said, "This will be a piece of cake."
Eva-02 pulled out its prog knife and slashed the Angel in half.
"See no problem."
Shinji thought hard, 'Asuka, don't get overconfident.'
Inside her EVA, Asuka whipped her head around looking at the monitor to Shinji's EVA. She nodded at Shinji and backed her EVA away from the Angel.
Shinji heard Asuka'a voice in his head. 'Next time Master, warn me beforehand if you are going to use telepathic communication. I almost blurted something out.'
Before Shinji could respond, they both heard Misato's voice over the speaker. "The Angel is changing."
Units 01 and 02 backed up and saw the Angel spilt into two identical looking humanoids, save one was blue and the other orange.
Before Asuka could do anything,Shinji mentally sent. 'Asuka, wait! Maybe Misato has a plan! Ask her over the speaker!'
Asuka froze in reaching for the controls to the EVA. She quickly opened the link to NERV HQ.
"Misato, any ideas on how to stop this thing?" Asuka asked, and sent to Shinji. 'All right, Master. We'll play it your way.'
Shinji breathed a sigh of relief, that Asuka wouldn't do anything foolish.
Misato cringed, as she answered. "Not at the moment. Give me a bit."
As the two EVA's dodged the Angel halves, Shinji took a deep breath.
"Please Misato. If we don't get some sort of plan soon, the EVA's will run out of power."
"I know," Misato replied, as she studied the two Angels.
Shinji mentally prepared, as he dodged being grabebd by the orange half and Asuka backed away from the blue.
"I really wish you would come up with a plan to help us out, Misato!" Shinji cried out.
Since Misato was facing the screen, no one saw her eyes flash purpule, as she granted Shinji's wish.
"I have it. Shinji! Asuka! Try to destroy the core of both halves at the same time. That should defeat it."
"Understood," came the unisoned response.
Shinji sent to Asuka, 'Can we do it?'
A disparging laugh came over the link. 'Master, I can easily link my responses to coincide with yours.'
With only one minute and twenty seconds left to the battery supply, the two pilots went on the offensive. Unit-01 rolled under the orange half and knocked it off its feet. Asuka piloted her Eva to grab the blue half, near the top of the head. Shinji righted Unit-01 and waited for the orange half to get to its feet. Shinji made a strange gesture to Asuka on the screen, but sent the full plan mentally.
Eva-01 shoulder blocked the orange half towards Unit-02 and hte blue half. Asuka used a bit of judo to send the blue half towards the orange.
As the two halves hit, Shinji mentally and verbally yelled, "NOW!"
Unit-01 and Unit-02 launched a punch at the core of their respective opponent. Both punches landed at the same time and cracked the S2 engines of the Twin Angel. Before the Angel blew up, the EVA's had backed away from it.
Shinji breathed a sigh of relief and thought to himself, 'That went well.'
'Master, are you all right?'
'I'm fine Asuka. You did great,' Shinji sent. 'So did Misato.'
'Thank you, Master.'

After the EVA's were recovered and a quick debreifing, Shinji headed home with his genies. He looked at the three girls that served him. As soon as she was able, Asuka told his other two genies about their ability to mentally communicate.
'Misato, thanks for comming up with that great idea,' Shinji sent. 'Rei, I'm sorry that you couldn't do anything.'
Misato sent back, 'Thank you, Master.'
Rei shrugged. 'Master, there will be other chances. I can wait.'
Shinji broadcast to all, 'At least this way, we can talk about your genie abilites without being overheard.'
The three genies nodded.

Ritsuko looked at the readings she got from the EVA's during the battle.
"That's odd."
Gendo looked up from his desk. "What is?"
Ritsuko sipped from her coffee cup. "Oh. It's just that the brainwave readings from Asuka and Shinji were off for part of the time. Asuka's defintaly off."
Gendo pursed his lips. "Keep me informed on any other oddities you might discover."
Ritsuko replied, "Yes, sir."
