That was right. He'd gone in with some of the girls becuase he'd wanted to let Shinobu see if they had any puppies or kittens. But it hadn't exactly been what he had expected. There had been that mermaid and backedaway only to bump into Naru... and gotten her mad again.
So that explained how he'd been knocked out, but it didn't tell how he'd gotten on the cot, or where the girls were. All he knew was that he was alone in a pet store that sold ... odd pets.
"Oh, you're up Mister Urashima. It's nice to see that you are conscious," said someone off to the side. He took a look and saw that it was a woman who looked to be the store's clerk.
"Uh... yeah. I'm sorry to put you through so much trouble."
"Oh, no trouble at all. I enjoy helping others," said the clerk, who's name badge read 'Marilyn'.
"Thank you very much then. Ummm... by the way, have you seen the girls I was with?"
"Yes I did."
"I hope they didn't cause to much damage."
"Nothing that couldn't be fixed."
"Where are they now?"
"Well, the last time I checked, your new pets were almost ready to be taken home."
"My new... what?"
"Pets, Mister Urashima," sid Marilyn who then gestured to a sign.
The ronin/dorm manager read the sign and his jaw dropped in shock. "'Attempts to steal from this store or assault personnel on store premises will result in immediate prosecution, furrification, and sale as merchandise.' You don't mean..."
"Exactly. And as such, you are about to receive your new pets."
"I don't think..."
"Nonsense! Just wait here a second and I'll get your first pet."
He watched as Marilyn left and returned a few minutes later with a girl on a leash who was quite obviously:
