It was his hazy memory that allowed him to understand that this world was just like the one he was from in many regards. There were nations just like he remembered, the level of technology had been the same, and even the date had been the same.
But it wasn't at all the same, as he remembered things that were majorly different back in their original world. Conversing with his father allowed him some other knowledge, and he did assume some things. All in all, he did know that it was much different than what he'd been born to.
It wasn't like they could go back though, as there had never really been able to figure out the way they'd been transported in the first place.
So he was stuck there, and would have to make the most of it, as he had never found a way to return to his world from this one, where:
